The Ma & Pa Community Greenway partners have completed a greenway feasibility study for the former Maryland and Pennsylvania rail corridor from York to Felton. The study explored the historic corridor to determine the feasibility of developing a recreation trail. The Red Lion Mile has provided a great start for this trail and created momentum in the community. This pilot project is envisioned to extend the Red Lion Mile to connect the three boroughs of Red Lion, Yoe and Dallastown. Trailhead opportunities exist at each end of the pilot segments. This section was chosen as a realistic portion of trail due to the dense population it will serve and its urban context. Most of the proposed trail through Yoe is established on existing borough streets, reducing construction costs and low maintenance costs. The segments form a "Y", with each of the three legs terminating in Red Lion, Dallastown and Yoe. Numerous points of interest are found within this pilot area adding to its character. The pilot project proposes approximately 3.3 miles of trail.
